In this temple, when you enter
through King Sahaji Raje darwaja, you will find this huge
pilgrim (Teerth) made of stones standing stiff and steady.
This Teerth hold great importance since, the 108 pandits
were asked to stay on this Teerth by Bramhadev. This led to
the merger of all the precious rivers, which was then named
as Kallol Teerth.
The Paapnash Teerth is situated on
the south direction of the Balaghat Dongar where
Tuljabhavani Mandir and Tuljapur city resides. This is one
of the best tourist attractions with natural surroundings
and an interesting historical place.
The Bhartibuacha Matha is located
on the west side of Tuljabhavani Mandir. To visit this
ancient and historical place, one needs to go through the
Shivaji Darwaja, behind the Tuljabhavani Mandir. Then, the
Aradhwadi is crossed, after which you will find the Matha.
Kalbhairav or the Tolbhairav was
constructed by Lord Shankar. Along with him, Tulja Bhavani,
Devi Mahishasur and their army, had come to fight the war.
In this war, the very powerful kalbhairav had successfully
killed several monsters. For his great work and memories to
keep alive the memories, the residing folks had built a
Kalbhairav Mandir on the mountain which was located on south
direction of the Bhavani Mandir. To visit this adorable
temple, one will have to go through the Bhavani Mandir and
move out from Shivaji Darwaja to the left side. Later, to
move towards Temple, you will find some steps made of stones
with Vakoji Bua's Math, Nagzari Kund. On entering, you will
be amazed to watch the Kalbhairav's statue huge and fiery.
The puja and rituals regularly go on in this temple and
every year on Diwali, the Bhandoli festival is celebrated
with enthusiasm.
In the ancient period, there used
to live a Sage named Markandya on the Yamunachal. He used to
keep all kinds of animals in his hermitage. Once, a herd of
cows got stuck on the way and were in trouble causing
disturbance in crossing. Markandya then shifted the blockage
and threw it elsewhere. Lord Ram comes in the place with
Goddess Sita, where Ravan kidnaps her and takes her to this
place. Lord Ram and Sita then appear in the area, where
Ravan comes and takes away Sita. This is the place where
Sita is brought by Ravan and Ram visits in her search. While
there was a conversation between Lord Shankar and Goddess
Parvati, Parvati wished to interfere this scene by false
depiction of Sita in the blockage thrown by Markandya. Lord
Ram came to know about this and therefore, this place is
popular by this incident and got the name Ghatsheel.
On the west side of the Tuljapur
city, near some distance of the Ghatshir mountain you will
find this ancient Mahadev Mandir. The temple is the most
adored place with the attraction of Shivling and a river in
front. With this abundance natural atmosphere, the place is
loved by one and all. Experience the very pleasing birds
chirping and tweeting noises with the dancing peacock and
the regular pujas.
